A Heart Event Is An Emotional Experience,

Not Just A

Physical One

Advancements in cardiac care have resulted in significant improvements in clinical outcomes for those experiencing a heart attack and heart surgery. However, most patients experience significant emotional, cognitive and behavioural symptoms in the early recovery period which can be unexpected and distressing. The duration of these symptoms can be brief, in the case of the cardiac blues, or deteriorate into persistent anxiety and/or depression, which has profound impacts upon the recovery and quality of life of sufferers.

In this expert webinar we will review the expected emotional rollercoaster after a heart event and give clinicians guidance and tools that will give you confidence in educating, assessing and supporting the emotional and psychological needs of your patients.

This free 30 minute webinar will be valuable to all clinicians working in cardiac recovery after an acute event and accompanying patient and health professional resources will be shared.
